St Louis artist and printmaker Peter Marcus, at work in his studio on a large-scale portrait. Marcus likes to combine opposites: grand scale with intimacy or architectural geometry with organic elements. He often combines digital photography with intaglio printing and challenges the distinction between printmaking and painting. And he always strives to take risks, experiment in ways that encourage growth and change. As he works, Marcus typically listens to classical music; Mozart is a favorite. Joan Falk, producer; Dickson Beall, director. (Duration 8:54)
